Welcome to my photography blog!

I love to share the latest images from my sessions with clients-turned-friends. Every time I step behind the camera, I do my best to create images that are natural, authentic and compelling.

I once heard it said that our achievements grow according to the size of our dreams, and to the degree we are aware of our destiny. I like that…a lot. Ten years ago, I began this journey, never dreaming that this love for photography would grow into my livelihood—and that it would grow to include Gabriel, my husband, business partner and best friend. Awesome! Our boutique home portrait studio specializes in creating portraits that bring out the best in each person we photograph.

I do not just consider myself a photographer, but a friend—one who is here to create motivation and opportunity for you to express your life to the fullest with those you love, moments experienced to remember and celebrate.

Life tells every story…once. Enjoy the stories featured here. I hope yours will be next!

Emily – TBCS Senior Pictures in Redmond, Washington

Emily is such a beautiful person, inside and out.  One of the things I like to do at our senior portrait sessions is get to know each person, and what is important to them. For example, I asked Emily to tell me what is one expectation she has for herself in life – what could she do that would be extremely disappointing to her if this was not fulfilled?  This was her response, “I expect myself to always care about people.  I feel I would be really disappointed if I end up getting closed off from people.  It doesn’t matter so much what I’m doing, as long as I am making a difference, specifically with people.  So I really hope I never lose sight of that, because that’s really the most important thing that I see now.”  Emily has such a compassionate heart  – I know she will make a big impact on her class when she goes back to school this fall. Our summer sessions are filling up quickly, and we are now booking into September and October dates.  If you’d like a summer portrait session, now is the time to call us for an appointment!  You can ask for Lorraine when you call 206-930-1333, or  send us a note through our contact form or email here at Lorraine Marie Photography.  To see more of our senior portraits, just take a look through our gallery on our website. Candace – Woodinville High School Senior Pictures

Candace is a high school senior that has so much energy and joy, it was impossible to contain.  But who’d even want to try?  We had so much fun at her senior portrait session in downtown Bellevue, enjoying the sun even if it was one of the hottest days on record.  One of my favorite photos of her is the first one I posted below – a more contemplative look that shows her more serious side…but not for long.  Soon we were back to high energy and beautiful smiles.  I loved how Candace’s personality came out in one of the last photos of our session.  I gave Candace a chalkboard and asked her to write a word that she happened to really like – so she wrote a word that she identified with.  You’ll have to see the image for yourself to see how Candace interpreted this “assignment”! Corinna – Inglemoor High School Senior Pictures

I love it when a senior has a well-defined sense of who they are, what they love and how they’d like to express themselves through their senior pictures to highlight this time in their lives.  Corinna invited me out to the stable where her horse is boarded – a place that holds great memories for her, and a place we could get beautiful images not just of Corinna, but of her with her horse.  I was surprised when I got a little choked up while watching Corinna’s slideshow as I was preparing it to show Corinna and her mom – this is something we prepare for all seniors who have their photo sessions with us.  We include video clips, a few fun interview segments and their photos combined to tell the story of who they are, and watching Corinna’s show back even made me sentimental.  Yes, she’s just that special! Lauren – Senior Spokesmodel, Redmond High School, Class of 2014

I first met Lauren at the beginning of this year, when the days were gray and the weather was cold.   But that didn’t stop us from going out into the city of Seattle, to have a fun time exploring during her Spokesmodel photo and video shoot.  We decided to take the South Lake Union Streetcar to see what interesting spots we could find for her photos.  I think I had more fun taking pictures of Lauren on the streetcar than anyplace else – at least we could stay dry! Now that summer is here, I’m looking forward to photographing Lauren again for her senior pictures – this time, with plenty of sun.  If you’re a friend of Lauren’s and have been thinking of getting your senior pictures taken this summer, don’t wait – spaces are filling up very fast, and we’re now taking appointments for September and October dates.  You can ask for Lorraine when you call 206-930-1333, or  send us a note through our contact form or email here at Lorraine Marie Photography.  To see more of our senior portraits, just take a look through our gallery on our website. We look forward to hearing from you! I’ve asked Lauren a few, just for fun “getting to know you” questions – some that maybe her closest friends might not even know! So Lauren’s friends, see how well you know her and try to figure out what her answer might be, before you read what she had to say. Megan – Issaquah High School Senior Pictures at Discovery Park

I‘m so happy that summer is in full-swing! Megan was our first high school senior to kick-off the portrait season for the Class of 2014, and she couldn’t have chosen a better location for her photos.  I love the Northwest feel of Discovery Park, even on cloudy days.  We were able to find the perfect spots to showcase who Megan is in an environment that is as serene and beautiful as she is.  Discovery Park is so diverse, with the beach below and the wide open spaces at the top of the park.  If you like a natural environment for your senior pictures in Seattle, Discovery Park is the place to go. Hana – Senior Spokesmodel, Issaquah High School, Class of 2014

It was on a temperamental and blustery Seattle day that Hana and I got together for her Senior Spokesmodel photo and video session.  I’m so glad that she is easygoing and fun to be around, and so unlike the weather that was swirling around us.  If anything, it made for a memorable photo session at Pike’s Place Market.  Hana volunteered to take off her jacket a time or two, which shows just how brave, good-natured and up for adventure she really is. As a Seattle photographer that specializes in high school senior photography, I’ve come to know and love some special locations in and around Seattle, that I’ll come back to time and time again.  Pike’s Place Market is just one of those spots.  It’s perfect for a senior that wants their senior portraits in an urban setting that can give both a grungy feel as well as something quite beautiful.  Hana demonstrated this perfectly during our time together. I’ve asked Hana a few, just for fun “getting to know you” questions – some that maybe her closest friends might not even know! So Hana’s friends, see how well you know her and try to figure out what her answer might be, before you read what she had to say. Here goes!   Q:   What is one movie that will always make you cry?     A:   “‘My Sister’s Keeper’. I bawled watching that movie.”   Q:   Who is your favorite actor?     A:   “Ryan Gosling“   Q:   What is something quirky that your friends may not even know about you?   A:... read more
