Yes, it’s true…I love photographing seniors! It is such a blast to hang out at cool locations as together we create your high school senior pictures that will forever reflect this important time in your life. I believe that your portrait session should focus on capturing the essence of your personality, your taste, your style, and your interests…and it should be fun! ~Lorraine Marie, High School Senior Photographer
To get started on your own senior portrait experience, fill out our contact form or call Lorraine at 206-930-1333 for more information.
Prior to your session, Lorraine will talk with you about what location will make you feel most at home—urban or natural, vintage or in your own backyard—making sure that the location reflects your personality and lifestyle. Lorraine’s sessions last between one – two hours, so there’s no rush to hurry you through your session. This laid-back approach allows for several changes of outfits, to give you a variety of looks in your senior pictures.
If you have a favorite prop you’d like us to include in your senior photo session, just let Lorraine know—she’s photographed seniors and skis, skates, cars, musical instruments, books, antique cameras, horses and of course the family dog—so let your imagination loose and have fun!
“What else should I know?”
Facial hair in images is fine…just be sure you’re well-groomed on the day of your session. If you love your look, but your mom wants to see you clean-shaven, bring along a razor and at the end of your session Lorraine will make time for those smooth-skin pictures. Win-win!
“What should I wear?”
Ahhh…the question that I hear most frequently, so you’re not alone in wondering about this one! First of all, your clothing choices should reflect you and your style. Don’t worry so much about trying to wear something timeless. In 20 years when you look back on your photographs, you will smile with amusement that yes, you were part of Generation Y. And that’s great!
However, there are some simple guidelines you should follow:
In general, solid colors work better than prints. But that doesn’t mean you can’t bring a favorite shirt. Mix it up and bring them both. Lorraine will let you know if it’s not going to work. Do avoid t-shirts or clothing with obvious logos, phrases or labels. Your clothing should draw attention to you only!
Layering is a favorite way to add visual interest to your clothing choices, so by all means bring along your favorite jacket or hoodie.
Session and Creative Fee: $175
The session and creative fee covers Lorraine Marie’s time and creativity, image processing and consultation services. This fee is required at the time of booking to reserve your session date. Due to the unpredictability of Seattle-area weather, the best of plans can sometimes need to be changed. No worries! Lorraine will gladly re-schedule your session in case of inclement weather.
All final images from your session will be retouched and artistically enhanced. Bumps, blemishes, under-eye shadows…we’ve all had them at one time or another, and we all want them gone! Your final images will be expertly retouched to remove these imperfections, giving you the natural look you want.
Approximately one-two weeks following your session, an in-person viewing session will take place at Lorraine’s home studio, at which time you’ll see all of your images on her large high-definition screen. Lorraine will help you through the ordering process to determine which assortment of prints, albums, canvases or collages are best for you.
A complimentary high school senior yearbook picture is provided with the booking of all senior sessions.
